The Legendary Helen Camps to Present at the Next Monday Night Theatre Forum

Next week the MONDAY NIGHT THEATRE FORUM continues with the legendary Ellen O'Malley-Camps, who is affectionately referred to as Helen Camps within the theatre fraternity. Among her many accomplishments and accolades, she is best remembered for founding the Trinidad Tent Theatre in the early 80's, an experimental company which attempted to create a style and theatrical form suited to the resources and realities of the Caribbean, and  through which many Trinidadian thespians cut his/her teeth.

Helen will present on Monday 1st February 2016, 7PM at the Trinidad Theatre Workshop

Helen Camps inaugurated the Trinidad Tent Theatre Company, St. Lucia’s Téyat Toutafé, and Trinidad’s Brown Cotton Tent Theatre Ensemble, and Brown Cotton Outreach. Raymond Choo Kong, Wendell Manwarren, Mervyn de Goeas and Debra Bocaud-Mason are just some of Trinidad's theatre practitioners who studied their craft under Helen.
Every other Monday, hosts Tony Hall and Raymond Choo Kong will present theatre practitioners who are renowned exemplars in their respective theatre practices at home and abroad. We have a great community of amazing theatre artists here in Trinidad and Tobago. They contribute so much to our lives through their life's work. We hope you’ll enjoy this peek behind the curtains as they share how they approach the creative process, how they overcome obstacles and challenges, and what advice they have for all of us especially for young theatre makers in our midst.

MONDAY NIGHT THEATRE FORUM is presented by Playwrights Workshop Trinbago and Raymond Choo Kong Productions in association with Trinidad Theatre Workshop and The Trinidad and Tobago Performing Arts Network.
