This year’s Cultural Diversity Week held on 19-27 March 2022 invites us to reconnect, share and express ourselves creatively through this year’s theme: ‘Connecting Through Culture’.

The Interfaith Committee is hosting a Harmony picnic to celebrate Cultural Diversity Week on Saturday 19 March from 12pm to 2pm. The program includes line dance performance, Thai Chi, music, disc golf and ice creams.

2022 Mental Health First Aid training for community leaders 

Council is launching the 2022 Mental Health First Aid workshop for community leaders.
This program is designed to educate 10 community leaders in mental health to assist them to understand barriers to help-seeking, including cultural or language barriers. This internationally recognised course is based on the International Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) guidelines. Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective. 
The 2-day workshop is free and will be held on Wednesdays 6 and 13 April 2022 at the Westall Hub. Places are limited, so please make sure to book early.

SSI Community Education & Awareness Fund

The Community Education & Awareness Fund provides grants of up to $2000 to community groups supporting Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities to deliver community information/education activities about the negative effects of gambling.
