PREMA Powerteam is set for the second round of the Italian Formula 4 Championship this weekend as the series is back inside the Italian borders at Misano Adriatico. The popular seaside resort will welcome teams and drivers for a traditional event featuring a slightly tweaked schedule. The cars will be on track for practice 1 on Thursday, and a collective test will be held earlier the same day. The timing for race 2 is also noteworthy as the start is set for 19:35, and the drivers will drive at sunset.
The PREMA F4 operation will be on track with its full-time line-up. Coming from a brilliant win at Paul Ricard, 16-year-old Russian Kirill Smal is looking for another positive run despite not having raced at the track in his part-time 2020 season.
Colombian-American Sebastian Montoya will return where he started his F4 career last year. Back from a trip to Indianapolis, where his father competed in the Indy 500 just a few days ago, he will try to repeat and improve his positive 2020 run. Hamda Al Qubaisi also has good vibes from the past at Misano, and despite some troubled luck on race day at Paul Ricard, her pace back in France was impressive enough to generate a nice momentum.
The #20 car will be driven by Conrad Laursen, who returns to action after a hand injury forced him to sit off for a while. The 16-year-old Dane, who had to miss race 3 at Paul Ricard, did not drive in the collective session between rounds at Misano. However, his impressive pace of late will be his ally for sure.
