Take back your MOJO!
Valentines Day is tomorrow and albeit a hallmark holiday with all the mushy couple stuff, I like to see it rather as an opportunity for a focus on that four letter word, Love. Love is something we need to embrace for not only all others but for ourselves daily.
Do you know how much energy goes into unloving, negative thoughts? It becomes toxic energy that drains you and your mojo and those around you as well. Toxic energy that not only makes you unhappy but can make you sick. I am talking about fear, guilt, regret, anger, sadness, jealously and hurt. It happens in our daily lives and if we do not learn to take it for what it is, process it and let it go it will build up. This build up consumes our minds, our clarity and the way we view ourselves and the world. Life truly is 10% of what actually happens and 90% of how we react to it. If your mind is consumed with toxic negativity then you are not going to feel good about yourself or about much in your life and our world and it is likely your actions and reactions will reflect that. Clearing your minds of the negativity and clearing the way for mindful, positive choices with love leading will result in healthy mind, body and soul.
Take this Valentines day as an opportunity to get your mojo back.
Mojo Take Back Quick Tips:
A great book to help you get your mojo back and let the 4 letter word Love be your guide is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Make it a Valentines gift for yourself or someone you love.
- Stop playing victim and take responsibility. Empower yourself.
- Stop people pleasing. I am not saying to be selfish but I am saying to be true to yourself and let your choices be true to you as well. Surround yourself wisely.
- Stop comparing. Life is not a contest. We should all simply try to be our best selves. Period.
- Stop holding on to hurts. They are not serving you. Communicate even when painful or uncomfortable. Forgive. It is a gift to yourself.
- Stop judging. Be open to giving the benefit of the doubt. Be hopeful that people do the same for you.
- Stop living just because and START LIVING AND LOVING YOURSELF AND YOUR LIFE!

Amore’ Dark Chocolate Cake
3 cups all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons dark chocolate cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup coconut or avocado oil
1 ripe avocado, mashed until smooth
2 cups water
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups raw cane or coconut sugar
2 ripe avocados, mashed until smooth
2 cups confectioner’s sugar
5 tablespoons dark chocolate cocoa powder
optional topping on frosting is sprinkled shredded coconut. I use unsweetened, reduced fat, less sugar all natural organic shredded coconut by Let’s Do Organic
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease and flour two 9” round cake pans. I use Nutiva refined coconut oil to grease my pans and it works great and has a neutral taste for those that do not want coconut flavor.
In a large bowl, whisk first five ingredients.
In another bowl, whisk oil and next four ingredients. Once combined, add sugar.
Pour wet avocado mixture into flour mixture and mix well until smooth. Divide batter evenly between cake pans. Bake cake in two 9” round cake pans, check after 30 minutes with toothpick for doneness.
Let cakes cool in pans for 15 minutes.
Once completely cool, turn out and get ready to frost! Add a layer of frosting on first cake layer, sprinkle 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional) then top with second cake layer. Add remaining frosting to the top of cake and sprinkle top with remaining shredded coconut.
*Please use all organic ingredients and make with LOVE
