HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?

After a visit to the apple orchard and some interesting conversation with my son about the benefits of apples I thought I would share with you. The saying "an apple a day" is right on for good reason. Apples have numerous health benefits and are a great choice to have around not just for kids but for adults.  Chalk full of antioxidants, apples are disease fighting warriors helping to prevent and repair oxidation damage and reduce inflammation. They are also full of pectin which is a soluble, fermentable and viscous fiber that give apples even more health warrior power. Here are few more benefits of the juicy apple:
  • Weight loss - Apples satisfy and fill us up without loading up on the calories.
  • Lower Cholesterol - The soluble fiber in apples is shown to lower cholesterol levels.
  • Exercise endurance - Apples provide an antioxidant called quercetin that makes more oxygen available to the lungs which helps endurance.
  • Stabilize blood sugar - Apples soluble fiber is key to stabilizing blood sugars.
  • Protection - Apples and their high fiber and flavenol can protect us against various cancers, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
  • Whiter Teeth - The biting and chewing of an apple stimulates the production of saliva in your mouth which in turn reduces bacteria and tooth decay.
  • Boost Estrogen - Apples boost estrogen naturally which helps maintain health and reduces symptoms of menopause.
