Getting ready for winter

From getting snow tires on your car to packing up an emergency supply kit, getting ready for winter weather is top of mind right now.The City clears over 5,500 kilometres of roads during winter weather - 3,800 kilometres being priority roads. See below for more information about snow clearing across the City and how you can get the information you need during a storm.

Please remember to exercise care in slippery conditions - leave yourself more time to get around, keep an eye open for neighbours in need and bundle yourself and little ones up when you go out to have fun. And if you can do it, grab a shovel and help out a senior in your neighbourhood!

Winter Maintenance

The City has many tools to communicate with residents during winter storms. You can stay up-to-date on snow clearing operations by calling 905-615-SNOW, following @MississaugaSnow on Twitter or visiting this website for snow updates.

Mississauga Transitway Stations: Construction Notice

The finishing touches on the first four Mississauga Transitway Stations are scheduled for December 2015 and continue into January 2016. The stations affected by construction are Central Parkway, Cawthra, Tomken and Dixie stations.

Although the unfinished details have not impacted the safety at these stations, it has certainly impacted its aesthetic appeal! General landscape work and planting will be completed in Spring 2016.

Farewell PERC

Rather than developing a huge facility to burn Peel's waste, Council voted last month to increase the Region's goals for waste diversion to reduce the amount of garbage we have to deal with at all.

I am thrilled that the Peel Energy Recovery Centre (PERC) project is finished. It would have caused a huge increase in truck traffic in Malton, an area that's already congested with 11,000 trucks per day! Learn more here.
