Thank you, Malton!

Malton's first Canada Day Celebration was an evening to remember! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to celebrate at Westwood Square, the volunteers who put it all together and the sponsors who made it possible.

It was so great to see the Malton community come together in celebration of our incredible country - I look forward to doing it again in 2016!

Malton Canada Day - what residents are saying

See more pictures from Canada Day on my website.

"The Canada Day festivities in Malton were fantastic.  The entertainment and fireworks were amazing. This is the first time in the 28 years I’ve lived in Malton that I could walk to such a fabulous Canada Day in my own neighbourhood, instead of driving long distances and  fighting traffic.  Now I finally feel that Malton is an important part of Mississauga! Keep up the good work.  We appreciate what you are doing for Malton."

"Just wanted say GREAT JOB, HOORAY, FANTASTIC, AMAZING. I am happy to live in Malton now that somebody really cares. It shows just how much Maltonites want to be taken care of and that they care about their community. I have never in the 50 plus years that I have lived in Malton seen so many people out to one event. The crowd was orderly and really enjoyed the fireworks. Thank you for caring so much."

"I would like to say how proud I am of being a resident of Malton after Canada Day. This is largely due to your wonderful contribution in facilitating the event!  The Westwood Square was a one of a kind celebration. I have no recent memories of something so wonderful. My entire family and the kids in Malton were elated with the spectacular display of fireworks."

New Trees Along Airport Rd.

When I first took office in December, I heard from many residents who were disappointed in the state of the planters on Airport Rd.

I'm happy to say that the Region has now replaced the lifeless plants in the centre planters with hearty trees that can stand up to the salt spray on Airport Rd.

See before, during and after photos on my website.

Pan Am Traffic Update

During the Pan Am Games, Britannia Rd. between Hurontario and Kennedy and Kennedy Rd. between Britannia and Coopers/Traders are part of the Games' Route Network and are classified as major collector roadways.

From July 6 to 25 and August 3 to 15 there will be parking and stopping prohibitions on both sides of Britannia between Hurontario and the east city limit, and on both sides of Kennedy between Eglinton and the north city limit. There are also restrictions in the area of the Hershey Centre. Learn more about getting around during the Games here.
