What's going on in your community?

Dear <<First Name>>,

There are two very important public meetings coming up for Ward 5 residents - I encourage you to come out and have your say about a possible widening of McLaughlin Rd. and an approved condo development at Nahani Way and Hurontario St. It's important that the voices in the community are heard.

As always, I welcome your comments at carolyn.parrish@mississauga.ca or 905-896-5500. I look forward to hearing from you!

With thanks,

Carolyn

Public Meeting - May 9

The City is investigating a widening of McLaughlin Rd. between Bristol Rd. and Britannia Rd. McLaughlin Rd. is designated as a Major Collector road within the study area and a Scenic Route from Bristol Rd. to Matheson Blvd. in the area of the Britannia Farm.

On May 9 at 9 a.m., there will be a public meeting to learn more about the environmental assessment and an opportunity to express any comments or concerns about the project. The location of the meeting has not been decided - I will publish it on my website as soon as it's available and will include it in the next e-newsletter.

Public Meeting - April 13

The development planned for the corner of Nahani Way and Hurontario St. will be discussed at a public meeting at City Hall on April 13 at 7pm.

The previous Council approved two "shadow buildings" at heights of 24 and 30 storeys with little objection from the community. Learn more or have your say at the public meeting.

Road Resurfacing

This spring, the City of Mississauga will be resurfacing many streets throughout the city. In Ward 5 south, expect crews to be out on Eglinton Ave. between Mavis Rd. and Kingsbridge Garden Circle.

Celebrate Earth Day

The City has many events planned across Mississauga to celebrate Earth Day.

I'll be with the Forest Heights Residents' Association on April 18 at 8:30am for a tree planting at the top end of Lucas Court and at the One Million Trees event at the Iceland Arena on April 25.
