Redrow Homes have just announced their plans for the construction of the new entrances to access their new residential development at the former BAe facility in Woodford. The work will provide improvements to the two existing entrances off the A5102 Chester Road and to the approaches to, and the corridor between, the entrances, in accordance with planning permission references DC053832 and DC054212.
Following on from recent utilities connections and diversions already completed, the work will comprise drainage connections, new kerbs and channels, footways and cycleways, a new roundabout to be constructed at the East entrance (see plan), new street lighting and carriageways resurfacing.
It is intended that work will commence with the formation of a compound area adjacent to the highway from 30th November onwards, with construction work commencing shortly afterwards. The Contractor is programmed to carry out work for 7 days a week, throughout the duration of the scheme.
The work, which will unfortunately necessitate traffic control using temporary traffic signals, will be undertaken by the Local Authorities term highways contractor and under the Authorities’ supervision for the period of the project with a scheduled completion by the end of April 2016.
