VOL. 4, ISSUE 3

19 JUNE 2015
Message from the TAP Coordinators: Counting down to September with less than 100 days to the Post-2015 Summit

Dear TAP Friends,

With less than 100 days left until the Post-2015 Summit, and the first round of negotiations on the Post-2015 Outcome Document convening in New York next week, I wanted to take another moment to thank all of you for your keen engagement on putting together the TAP Network Response to the Zero Draft over these past couple of weeks. Many of you engaged in the drafting and editing of this response, and the very good response we've come up with is a testament to the kinds of things we can achieve collectively when we come together as a Network to collaborate around these critical issues.

In the 24 hours since our initial outreach to Member States, we have received a very good response, with several delegations interested in meeting with us on this joint Response we've put together. For that reason, it will be very important to know who exactly will be in New York next week for the IGN and HLPF the following week, as we'd like to include as many of you as possible in these meetings with delegations, when we have these opportunities.

As of today, we have 45 endorsements in the few short days that the Response has been in circulation, with the document open for further endorsements on a rolling basis. And of course, you can contribute your organization's inputs into the compendium of TAP Network amendments here as well.

As negotiations begin to heat up over the coming weeks ahead, and with the Financing for Development Conference around the corner as well, we will only intensify our advocacy efforts here on behalf of the collective Network. On that front, we look forward to working with all of you much more closely in these critical months ahead, and stand ready as always to support the Network as needed going forward.

Best Regards,
TAP Coordinators
John & Liam

TAP NETWORK UPDATES

TAP Network "Zero Draft" Response

Thanks again to all who have endorsed the
TAP Network Response to the Post-2015 Zero Draft thus far. We have 45 endorsements of the Response thus far in such a short timeframe – so many in fact that we will have to consider re-formatting the paper to fit all of the logos on the front page as we receive more endorsements! For your reference, you can find the most up-to-date version of the Response on our website at www.tapnetwork2015.org, for your future advocacy work on this front. Just as a reminder, the Response still open for endorsements on a rolling basis from here on out,and the TAP compendium document is still open for inputs as well.

Meetings with Member States and TAP Network Members during IGN next week

We have sent the TAP Network Zero Draft Response to all UN Missions, and all of our personal contacts from delegations here and in capital yesterday, and have received a very positive response thus far. So positive in fact that we are in the process of lining up several meetings with delegations next week, which we would hope to bring organizations from within the Network along to as well. On that note, it will again be very important for you to let us know if you are in New York next week for the IGN so we can coordinate with all of you for these meetings and other opportunities. If you already haven’t, please fill out the form to let us know if/when you will be here. You can see everyone who has filled out the form, and those who we know will be here next week, on the google doc here.

TAP Network talking points for intervention during Post-2015 intergovernmental negotiations interactive dialogue with Major Groups and other stakeholders – Wednesday, 24 June

UNDESA and UN-NGLS have set up a process for civil society to self-organize/coordinate around interventions for the Interactive Dialogue, and you can find the groups of thematic clusters around positions in the google doc they have set up here. As previously mentioned, we have put forward a cluster around TAP issues on the google doc that has been set up (Group 7), so for those of you interested in contributing to this statement, please put your information down and we can coordinate from there. Thus far, only CIVICUS and Save the Children have committed to helping draft this statement, so please be sure to fill out the form ASAP so we can begin the process of putting together this statement soon. We’ve put together a google doc for everyone to contribute towards in any case, which can be found here: http://bit.ly/1H3ubhY
