Contribute to the TAP Network Zero Draft Response

The draft of the TAP Network “Zero Draft” Response is now open for comments/edits from TAP organizations, which you can contribute to on the google doc here: http://bit.ly/1JLgX8s

Please submit your comments by no later than COB (NY time) on Monday, 15 June, as we will finalize and send around for endorsements soon after that with an aim to begin our advocacy push that week before the next IGN.

TAP Network representatives in New York for June Post-2015 IGN and HLPF, and nominations for speaking opportunities for TAP

With the Post-2015 Negotiations on the “Zero Draft” approaching from 22-25 June and running in to the HLPF the following two weeks, it will be very important for us to know which TAP representatives will be in New York for each of these meetings, and to identify speakers to represent the TAP Network as various opportunities may arise. 

If you will be attending the June intergovernmental negotiations (22-25 June) or the HLPF (26 June – 8 July), please fill out the following google form so we can coordinate with all of you: http://goo.gl/forms/g71OW3VHFv. 

In addition to identifying who will be around and available for meetings these three weeks,this form doubles as a nomination form for putting representatives forward for any potential TAP Network speaking opportunities as they arise over the coming weeks ahead – so please be sure to fill out this form, particularly if you’d like to nominate yourself to speak on behalf of TAP during these negotiations. The deadline for nominations is Midnight on Wednesday, 17 June, so if you would like to be considered for a speaking opportunity for TAP, please fill out the form by then.

TAP Network Side Event during HLPF

The TAP Network will be hosting a side-event during the HLPF entitled “Transparency, Accountability and Participation: Building a Post-2015 Review Architecture that is Fit for Purpose” on Wednesday, 1 July from 1:15 – 2:30 in Conference Room 7. Compendium of inputs/language suggestions from TAP organizations still open

As a reminder, the Coordinators have provided an opportunity for everyone to compile their individual organization’s language recommendations/responses to the Zero Draft in our TAP Network Compendium of language edits to the Zero Draft, which you can contribute to here.

The programme for the sixth session of the intergovernmental negotiations on the post-2015 development agenda, to be held from 22-25 June, has been posted online at: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/post2015. Discussions during the June session will focus on intergovernmental negotiations on the zero draft outcome document.

Please note that all representatives of Major Groups and other Stakeholders must register to attend the June negotiating session by completing the following form: http://bit.ly/1QG67Ba

According to the programme for the June session, the co-facilitators will convene a meeting with the Major Groups and other Stakeholders on Wednesday, 24 June from 10:00am-1:00pm. Please indicate on this same form if you are interested in speaking at this meeting.

Please note that an advance unedited copy of the 2015 edition of the Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR) has been posted at: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/globalsdreport/2015

The report aims to inform Member States on options to strengthen the science-policy interface in the context of the SDGs and the post-2015 development agenda. It will be presented at the upcoming session of the HLPF from 26 June to 8 July.

A document with the draft conclusions of the first meeting of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators was circulated to IAEG-SDGs members on 5 June 2015 for their review, and is available online following this link. Once the conclusions document is finalized, it will be posted on this site, as part of the meeting report.

The meeting, which took place on 1-2 June 2015, was attended by the representatives of 27 IAEG-SDGs members, as well as over 90 participants from specialized agencies, funds, programmes and the UN Secretariat. More than 80 representatives from accredited civil society organizations also took part in the meeting.
