Post-2015 Summit Special Edition

21 September 2015
Message from the TAP Coordinators:

Dear TAP Friends,

As we approach the Post-2015 Summit and the adoption of the 2030 Agenda this week, we'll keep this message short, as the newsletter below will provide plenty content to digest regarding the upcoming activities for the Summit and for the TAP Network over this next week and next few months ahead.

A friendly reminder that we'll have a TAP Network lunch on Thursday, 24 September from 12:30 - 2 PM EST, and we hope to see many of you there! Please note that due to the great response we've received from all of you, we have changed the venue of the lunch to a larger venue, and we will now be hosting the lunch in the Baha'i International Community office at 866 UN Plaza, Suite 120. Please note that we will need all RSVPs by no later than TOMORROW (Tuesday, 23 September) at 11 AM EST. Any late RSVPs will need to coordinate with myself and Liam, as we will need to escort you into the building ourselves. RSVP here: http://bit.ly/1KTLBzI

We look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday and throughout the rest of the week, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all about any of the processes outlined below.

Best Regards,
TAP Coordinators

With the Second Meeting of the Interagency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators (IAEG-SDGs) approaching from October 26-28 in Bangkok, we are pleased to announce that the TAP Network Steering Committee has decided to use TAP funding to fund the participation of a technical expert from within the Network to attend the IAEG-SDGs. This meeting of the IAEG-SDGs will be a very important meeting for us to influence and cover, particularly as we push on as a Network around data/indicators for the SDGs and Goal 16, with this work also having broader implications on follow-up and review and accountability for the SDGs as well.

If you are interested in being considered to represent the TAP Network at the IAEG-SDGs meeting in Bangkok from 26 – 28 October, please fill out the nomination form here: http://bit.ly/1EF8eoz

  • High level of engagement in previous TAP Network work around data/indicators.
  • Willingness to represent and undertake advocacy on behalf of the TAP Network and provide additional support for TAP’s work at the IAEG-SDGs, as necessary.
As we do with every other key advocacy opportunity, it will be important for us to know which TAP members are planning on attending the IAEG-SDGs. So if you are planning on attending, with or without funding from TAP, please also fill out the form so we can coordinate with all of you while we are in Bangkok.
