The Beautiful You Devotional was on a break last week due to the Easter Holiday as I was out of town visiting with my mother. I hope your holiday was amazing! We resume this week with an exhortation that will change your life if you apply it. Lets’ go!

Beautiful You Devotional ~ April 2021 / Volume 24

If you recall in Week Two of the Beautiful You Devotional, we talked about Goliath. If you missed it or need a refresher, I encourage you to go back and read it. Facing the giants in our lives is no small task, but with God on our side, we cannot be beat. This week’s devotional is about standing toe to toe with our enemy, persuaded that God not only stands WITH us but is IN us!

“Then Goliath, a Philistine champion from Gath, came out of the Philistine ranks to face the forces of Israel. He was over nine feet tall!”

Facing our pain and past can feel quite daunting especially if we don’t have the tools and skills to do it. Like Goliath, they can present themselves as 9 feet tall. That’s what this devotional is all about, presenting you will tools from God’s Word to fight and overcome. Fighting is not something we look forward to doing, but you have to know, you do not fight alone.

Most of the time we fight with TRUST!

God has promised us that he will be with us and strengthen us for the battle. The scripture below, in particular, is my salvation through most every battle I face. It wards off fear and apprehension and gives me to strength to trust God and move forward in the fight with faith. It’s not easy to step out on trust, but it’s the only way to defeat our enemy. God is faithful!

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT)

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."

Journal entries from my healing journey

“Who are you to defy the armies of God?! My Father is the Mightiest of all-The Almighty. He measured the oceans in the hollow of His hand. He commands the day and the night. He commands the wind and sends the rain and thunder to do His work. His love holds me in the shelter of His arms. His everlasting arms that cannot fail, won’t fail! He will never release His hold on me. My Father commands life to come forth and destroyed the grave. My Father’s love is powerful, gentle, kind, snatching me out of deep waters and setting my feet in a broad place, a stable place, a still place, a strong place, a place of victory! He is the Lion, the Life, the Truth Who holds all things together. He is All and Everything. He is the Source of all life, strength, power, all wisdom and glory and beauty!”

Scripture ref: Psalm 18:16 & 19; Psalm 104:3; Isaiah 40:12; Deuteronomy 33:26-28; 1 Corinthians 15:26

This journal entry came in a fierce battle for my healing. A moment when the Holy Spirit rose up and began to declare to my heart who my God is! I wrote and wrote with tears I’m sure as the Lord revealed Himself as Warrior and Victorious One to my heart. My prayer is that He will do the same as you read the entry!

His Word is our ONLY defense against the enemy of our souls. Yes, He has given us doctors and counselors to support us at times, but His Word is the only force in all of creation that has authority in the heavens and the earth over all things we face. And over the Adversary who seeks to kill, steal and destroy.

Below are a few scriptures to focus on this week as you move forward in trust:

Isaiah 41:10 (shown above)

Psalm 18- Read entire…this Psalm paints a breath-taking picture of what it looks like when God comes to your rescue.

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”

Ephesians 1:19:-23 “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.”

Colossians 1:15-20- Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,[e]
for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.
Christ is also the head of the church,
which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.[f]
So he is first in everything.
For God in all his fullness
was pleased to live in Christ,
and through him God reconciled
everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

“The warrior may buckle

Contending for the faith

But she will not be broken

Her Champion sustains”
