Success Story: CTA Partners With Literacy Chicago
Literacy Chicago has been partnering with the Chicago Transit Authority since December to provide digital literacy instruction for their Second Chance Program trainees. “CTA’s Second Chance program is a nationally recognized program that provides valuable job skills and career opportunities to Chicago residents who often face challenges re-entering the workforce,” according to TransitChicago.com. Literacy Chicago's volunteer instructors have focused on teaching email and basic internet skills and using Northstar Digital Assessments to assess student levels. Students then receive certificates as proof of their knowledge and skills. More than 40 participants have gained skills so far. Literacy Chicago is continuing to develop this effective and impactful partnership. If your staff could benefit from specialized instruction, contact us today!
