DEADLINE THIS FRIDAY The City Above the City international wood design competition invites architects and students from all over the world to solve the challenges of urbanization in both sustainable and humane ways. Deadline is September 30th. more
DEADLINE THIS SATURDAY In its fifth year the Fentress Global Challenge invites young architects to explore future design possibilities in public architecture. This year the annual competition challenges students to envision The Airport of the Future, designing speculative projects for a future in which airports will have ever-more significance as facilities for travel, retail, leisure, national security and more. Deadline is October 1st. more

NEW - AIAWV Scholarship
AIAWV has scholarships available for West Virginia natives who are enrolled in professional architecture programs. Any West Virginia native in either the undergraduate or graduate architecture programs who wish to apply for the AIAWV Scholarship can obtain the application from Nora Stover in the school offices in 201 Cowgill. The application deadline is October 18, 2016.
NEW - Brinkmann Scholarship
Awards students enrolled in US not-for-profit CIDA-accredited interior design programs with academic scholarships and summer internship opportunities. Submission deadline is December 4, 2016.
NEW - Diversity Scholarship
Awards African-American students enrolled in US not-for-profit NAAB-accredited architecture programs with academic scholarships and summer internship opportunities. Submission Deadline is December 4, 2016.
DEADLINE FRIDAY - The Architect's Newspaper's annual Best of Design Awards has been launched. This year the awards has expanded to include 26 categories and, as always, a featured Student Category. Submission deadline is September 30th. poster  website

Brad Whitney is a professor teaching in the interior design program. An avid painter and photographer, he presents his first solo show in Blacksburg at XYZ. The selected paintings are part of a larger body of work created during summer 2015 through summer 2016. They are inspired by conversations with his partner, a professor in electrical engineering, concerning the fundamental, elegant forces of nature. Show is September 16th - October 8th. postcard

Majors Fair

Squires Commonwealth Ballroom

The Majors Fair is an annual event sponsored by the university's Director of Undergraduate Advising and the Student Government Association. The target audience is the entire undergraduate student body. The intent is to provide one-stop shopping for undergrads who are looking for a major or a second major, confirming their current major, or exploring one or more minors. Please share our flyer if you know of any students interested in transferring into our school.
