New Class Available for Spring: FutureHAUS Dubai - Solar Decathlon Middle East - this course, open to all students of all majors, allows students to participate in the beginning stages of Virginia Tech's next Solar Decathlon Home design and development.

Monday, January 16 - No Classes - University Offices Closed
Tuesday, January 17 - Classes Begin; last day to withdraw from Spring Semester to avoid tuition and fee charges

At the beginning of the spring semester we will start to digitally collect resumes to provide for the firms coming to the career day in advance. We will accept them up until the weekend before the Career Day (February 27th) on the Career Day website. Please be on the look out for resume/portfolio workshops that will be held throughout the beginning of the spring semester prior to the Career Day! For the Career Day website we will only accept 2-paged resumes, in PDF format. If you have any questions, please let Taylor Cupp know. Have a great break!


DEADLINE OVER BREAK - DBR is now seeking entries for PAUSE, an international wood design competition that will determine the final form of this year's pavilion structure for TED2017. Submissions are due January 1, 2017. more application
The winning logo of the design contest will be used to establish the conference’s visual identity and highlight the conference theme: Transforming the Discussion: breaking the landscape architecture chrysalis. Deadline is Sunday, January 15th.  more  flyer


DEADLINE THIS THURSDAY - Since 2009, Houzz has worked alongside architects, interior designers and lanscape architects to build a digital platform that enables them to improve and grow their business. Now through Houzz Scholarships we are lookin to support the education of the next generation of practicing professionals. Houzz Scholarships will award three $2,500 scholarships, in the categories of "Women in Architecture," "Residential Interior Design," and "Sustainable Design." For scholarships that will be awarded in Spring 2017, applications are due no later than December 15, 2016.
An international course on arts and architecture in ancient Athens and Greece. The aim of the course is to introduce Athens's arts and architecture from antiquity to modern times. The dates for this course are May 28 - June 10, 2017. Deadline to apply is January 31st.
As we start looking toward the end of the fall semester and begin gearing up for the holidays, the GREEN Team is eager to kickstart the #ExperiencesOverGoods campaign this season. We believe in investing in experiences that benefit one’s wellbeing beyond the upcoming winter festivities through education, travel, and sustainable development.
