ANNOUNCEMENTS
FROM YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISORS

A+D Undergraduate Students:  Making an appointment with your academic advisor is easy.  We encourage you to schedule an appointment at any time during the semester if you need assistance. 
+ Architecture and Industrial Design - Tamela Gallimore will be holding office hours this coming week. October 20-27, 9am-11:30am & 1pm-4pm, she will be taking walk-in appointments.
 + Interior Design and Landscape Architecture majors may schedule an appointment with academic advisor (Teresa Phipps) via e-mail tphipps@vt.edu


Upcoming:
Monday, October 19th - Last day for students to resign without grade penalty. First and required contact for resignation is Carolyn Harris in the CAUS Dean's office, 202 Cowgill Hall or the dean of the Graduate School. Submit completed resignation form to the University Registar's office by 5pm. Last day to change grade option from P/F to A-F, 5pm. Visit University Registrar in 250 Student Services Building to process a grade change option.
Tuesday, October 20th - Opening of web course request for Spring 2016
Friday, October 23rd - Last day to apply for Fall 2015 graduation in order to be included in the Fall Commencement bulletin.

STUDENTS
AIAS T-SHIRT COMPETITION GUIDELINES
-Prompt: Create an architectural t-shirt graphic
-AIAS must be on the t-shirt, but shouldn’t be the main focus of the design
-If the AIAS logo is used, it must be on a white background
-You may have one t-shirt color and two other colors (3 colors total)
-The winner will receive a $50 Mish Mish gift card and will be decided by a panel of judges
-Email your design to aiasvt@gmail.com in pdf format with the subject line “t-shirt competition”
-Due by November 4th

COMPETITIONS

NEW
The Fairy Tales competition invites architects, designers, writers, artists, engineers, illustrators, students and creatives to submit their own unique architectural fairy tales. The scale, location, and program of the submission is up to each entrant. A successful entry crafts a text narrative, along with 5 images, in the most spectacular way possible. Deadline January 16, 2016
