Upcoming:
Monday, October 17th - Last day for students to resign without grade penalty. First and required contact for resignation is Kathryn Albright, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for CAUS, for undergraduate students or the dean of the Graduate School for grad students. Submit completed resignation form to the University Registrar's office by 5pm.
Monday, October 17th - Last day to change grade option from P/F to A-F, 5pm. Visit the University Registrar in 250 Student Services Buildings to process grade change option.
Tuesday, October 18th - Opening of Web Course Request for Spring 2017
Friday, October 21st - Last day to apply for Fall 2016 graduation in order to be included in the Fall Commencement bulletin.

NEW - International Art & Design Competition 2017
Florence, sometimes called the “museum of no roof ”, is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. The city of which modern Italy is proud as a center of art had reached one of its pinnacles between the 14th and 16th centuries, when creative energies and techniques of artisans flourished. “The International Art & Design Competition” takes place in this marvelous environment. The aim of the competition is to contribute to the revitalization and internationalization of the entire Italian Art, Design and Crafts industries, by discovering new artists, fostering their talents, and in the meantime promoting the study abroad in Italy. deadline January 10, 2017  flyer
2017 Land Art Competition
Nka Foundation invites submissions from creative practitioners and institutions dedicated to community place making to participate in its 2017 Land Art Competition. The competition is open to landscape architects, artists, curators, designers, architects, urban planners, engineers, university students and others from around the world to submit their ideas for large-scale and site specific public art installations based on site in rural Ghana. Submission deadline is February 15, 2017.

SCHOLARSHIPS & OPPORTUNITIES

NEW - Forecast is an interdisciplinary platform, which now has started its second edition and will invite 30 talents from fields such as art, architecture, music, dance, design, etc. to Haus de Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in March 2017. Mentors such as curator Hou Hanru, designer Heather Martin, video artist Bjorn Melhus, architect Philippe Rahm, choreographer Richard Siegal, and composer Jennifer Walshe will accompany chosen projects to fruition. All students who think they may be interested in a career in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Architectural History or Urban and Environmental Planning are invited to come, regardless of prior experience in the field. Washington Semester, Leadership through Policy and Governance
Located in Old Town Alexandria, the Washington Semester, Leadership through Policy and Governance program offers a unique 11-week immersion into work experience within the nation’s capital. Students will learn about and work on challenging public policy issues that shape communities locally and nationally while obtaining academic credit. Washington Semester Fellows will also attend seminars that enable them to understand their internship from a range of analytical perspectives. Open to all majors who have earned a minimum of 60 credits and are in good academic standing. Information Sessions upcoming: October 10th 1-2pm; October 11th 10:30-11:30am in Room 111 of the Architecture Annex. First application deadline is November 12th.
