Welcome to our first e-update

I am Gustaf Landhal, Coordinator of the GrowSmarter project... let me give you a quick overview:

Stockholm, Cologne and Barcelona have been chosen as the 3 Lighthouse Cities for the smart city project GrowSmarter in a contract worth €25 million under the European Commission’s ‘Smart cities and communities’ Horizon 2020 funding call.

The 3 Lighthouse Cities will roll out 12 smart solutions in energy, infrastructure and transport over the next five years. The idea behind GrowSmarter is to provide other European cities with valuable insights and stimulate the uptake of the 12 technologies to support the transition to a smart, sustainable Europe.

GrowSmarter is led by the City of Stockholm and involves 39 European partners from urban municipalities, research and industry.

You will be able to keep up with the journey of the Lighthouse Cities through our regular blog-style updates and by visiting our newly launched website. Other ways in which you can get involved in the project are detailed below.
