Details below:

Parents can relax…Homework Help is here!

For parents and children struggling with their new homeschool reality, the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach wants to help.  This year marks the 10th anniversary of the teacher-led afterschool Homework Centers at the Mandel Public Library used by thousands of local students each year.  Typically, the library’s Homework Centers would be bustling with students finding help with homework, practicing reading, completing science projects, writing social studies reports, and eating healthy snacks.  In these extraordinary times that find students learning from home, the library is once again adapting and working with the Homework Center teachers to support the community by offering Remote Homework Help for students in grades K- 5
Remote Homework Help will run May 2 through May 24 and be available Saturdays and Sundays, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM each day.  Families can schedule a 30-minute session with the library’s certified teachers, Mr. Eric and Ms. Kristen, to receive help in all subjects and projects.  The sessions will take place either by phone or online using Google Hangouts. Families can reserve a spot with a teacher by completing a Google Form, then a library staff member will contact applicants to schedule the session.  For additional information and questions, call 561-868-7701.  The library’s Remote Homework Help program is sponsored by a grant from the West Palm Beach Library Foundation.

Mr. Eric and Ms. Kristen, the Mandel Public Library’s certified Homework Center teachers, are ready to start helping K-5 students from home.

We are thrilled to share that the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach is featured on the cover of the May issue of Palm Beach Illustrated magazine. The library served as the location for their amazing story on SUPER MOMS for Mother's Day.  Be sure to pick up your copy and check out all the cool local moms sharing about their kids, careers and style...all at the library! The photos really showcase the fun and vibrancy of the children's area.

We recently installed a plaque naming the Teen Homework Center in memory of SAM DRATCH.  Sam, who passed in 2018, was a PBC Public Defender and a voracious reader who was one of the library’s most cherished and faithful patrons.  His mother, Patricia Eanet, presented the Foundation with a generous gift to honor Sam's love of the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.  We are so grateful to Patricia for her generous donation, and proud to name the Teen Homework Center after Sam, who was able to change so many lives through his work, as the homework center will continue to do in his honor.

Patricia also created the Sam Dratch Fund for people who would like to make donations to the Library Foundation in his memory, which has already raised over $3,500 to date!  If you would like to make a gift to Sam's fund, please visit or call 561-868-7793.
Library Foundation Continues to Work Remotely
to Support Community

In this unusual and unprecedented time, the Library Foundation board, staff and volunteers continue to work remotely to ensure that we can continue to support the community now while help is needed, and moving forward when the library reopens.  THANK YOU so much to our dedicated team for showing up either in the office, via Zoom video conference calls, and sometimes even in parking lots so that we can continue to provide critical programs and resources to our community.  Library services will be an essential part of a robust recovery!
Thank you for your contributions on #LibraryGivingDay this past April 23!  We were able to raise over $3,500 to support the programs, services and resources at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.  Your gift helps us create an inspired community where children excel and adults thrive. If you missed the one-day fundraiser on April 23, please visit any time to make your gift and help support your community.
Your investment makes a significant difference for thousands of people each day.
