Women in Travel Summit Takeaways

Wanderful hosted WITSx Chicago a few weeks ago, and have hosted other WITSx events in other cities across the US. This series provides an opportunity to connect with other inspired women who are building businesses, growing brands, and adding their powerful voices to transform the travel industry. Key women in the industry provided presentations and workshops on content building, best practices for web, blogging and more. Here are just a few things our co-chair Abby Baric learned:

  1. There were more than 60 women in attendance, and around 75% of them studied abroad. One could draw the conclusion that study abroad has a HUGE impact on a person's career.
  2. Did you know that there is a Travel Blogger Summit on Study Abroad? Now you do!
  3. Google uses site speed as a factor in its page rankings. Slow website? Worse off Google ranking. Make sure you’re working with your web host/team to ensure that your site speed is over 90+/100. Test your website on Google’s PageSpeed Tools.
  4. When it comes to travel, packing is one of the major concerns across all age groups. Make packing content available somewhere on your digital platforms.
  5. Have you heard of Travel Massive? If not, check it out!
