Greetings, dear readers, from the frozen tundra that is Georgia!  In case you haven’t heard, I'm NOT a fan of winter, even though it forces me to stay inside to hibernate and write. It’s a good thing that writing is my escape because my proverbial plate is nearly full as I'm working on two new books--a single title that readers have been clamoring for now for a long time and another collaborative novel. I'm taking the character of Maddie Warner, from FALLING HOME and AFTER THE RAIN, and making her the star of a new book, out next year! I’m pleased to report that Team W is also making excellent progress on our third collaboration that will knock your socks off, scheduled for release in 2020.  Up next, look for DREAMS OF FALLING, the paperback edition, available April 16th.  And then, there’s the eagerly anticipated book #6 in the Tradd Street series, THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITS ON TRADD STREET, coming your way October 1st!

Without further ado, here's the moment we've all been waiting for…
Cover Reveal: The Christmas Spirits on Tradd Street
The Christmas spirit is overtaking Tradd Street with a vengeance in this new novel from the bestselling Tradd Street series!

Melanie Trenholm should be anticipating Christmas with nothing but joy–after all, it’s the first Christmas she and her husband, Jack, will celebrate with their twin babies. But the ongoing excavation of the centuries-old cistern in the garden of her historic Tradd Street home has been a huge millstone, both financially and aesthetically. Local students are thrilled by the possibility of unearthing more Colonial-era artifacts at the cistern, but Melanie is concerned by the ghosts connected to the cistern that have suddenly invaded her life and her house–and at least one of them is definitely not filled with holiday cheer….

And these relics aren’t the only precious artifacts for which people are searching. A past adversary is convinced that there is a long-lost Revolutionary War treasure buried somewhere on the property that Melanie inherited–untold riches rumored to be brought over from France by the Marquis de Lafayette himself and intended to help the Colonial war effort. It’s a treasure literally fit for a king, and there have been whispers throughout history that many have already killed–and died–for it. And now someone will stop at nothing to possess it—even if it means destroying everything Melanie holds dear.

Surviving heartbreak…who can relate?  In writing LEARNING TO BREATHE, one of my earlier novels, I completely fell in love with the main character in this book, Brenna O’Brien.  With grace and grit, she dug deep to recover her heart and soul, and soon found herself on a different journey of the heart after discovering a box of letters from WWII.  To learn more, click here to visit the Learning to Breathe page on my website.
Meghan Recommends
I'm turning this month's book recommendations over to my lovely daughter, Meghan, who is a voracious reader and has quite good taste in literature.  Here's what she's been reading lately...
Congratulations to my latest winners of my foreign novel guessing game.  So many of you guessed the correct answer, THE SOUND OF GLASS, Croatian translation. This month's winners, chosen at random, are: Marie Watt who shared, " This is my favorite Karen White book so far!" and Paula Tau who said, "This was the first book I read by Karen White."  Congratulations, ladies for your correct answers and for all who took the time to play along!
Now for an installment of "Karen's Favorite Things".  These cute little flats are life changing! Made from recyclable materials and machine washable, Rothy's are some of my favorite shoes that I've ever worn. I'm such a fan that I now own four pairs! Available online at rothys.com!
What say you, Sir Quincy, about winter?
"I love the chance to cuddle and snuggle, especially on my new bed my mom got me.  It makes me feel frisky and fancy."
And you, Sophie Belle...What are your thoughts on winter?
"Wake me up when it's over."
Let's connect!
Until next time, happy reading!
Karen
