The Chillin' & Grillin' for a Cure 2016 was a huge success!  From the Eat Pray Dean tattoos to the amazing Selfie Station, over to the yummy food and drinks, the kids and adult games, the firefighters and police visits and the awesome baskets, we were blessed with so much outpouring of love. The food competitions were tasty, fun and exciting and we would like to again thank all of the competitors, you added an element of excitement and fun for foodies at the event.  Huge shout outs to the:

We reflect on each event that we have an thank God for the people that stand by us in Dean’s fight with CF.  We're thankful for our family, our planning crew, our neighbors, friends and all of the 400+ people attended this year’s Chillin’ & Grillin’. The feedback we have received keeps us wanting to host again and again. The CF Climb for Life 2016 this past weekend was amazing! Team Eat. Pray. Dean was the top Family & Friends fundraising team. So many people donated and 19 joined in and took the challenge to climb over 1,200 steps and fundraise to move us closer and closer to a cure for CF.  There were some awesome times, awesome smiles and awesome stories from that day. We thank our team, their supporters, the Delta Phi Epsilon ladies who volunteered and stepped along with us and the new teammates we had this year. Together we are all making a difference!

What is next?
We want to thank The Fort Awesome Band for hosting a fundraiser benefitting the CFF.  On Friday November 18th at Strike & Spare II in Lockport, this band of generous men will host a concert and auction off some Blackhawks tickets and jersey's. We are blessed that they are giving their time, energy and care for the cause. Please share this adult only FREE concert with your friends -- doors open at 7, music from 8:30-midnight.

Wrapping up 2016
Do I dare say yet again that we’re getting closer in this fight?  Yes, we are, just two days after the Chillin’ & Grillin’, the FIRST drug that treats the underlying cause of CF for Dean’s mutations was approved for kids ages 6+.  This is mind-boggling to know this drug is available in our arsenal as we navigate keeping him healthy. Although this isn't a cure, this is something closer than the treatments currently available. We still need to fight hard to keep Dean compliant, keep Dean healthy, keep educating people on the disease, keep raising money and keep praying for the right combination of meds that will be the one to fix CF for all.  After the new year, we will share with you the plan we have for next year, to raise more than we have in any year yet. We will need your help so please share Dean's story with people far and wide, we are going to need everyone.

Through the end of 2016, you can make a tax deductible donation here.

If you have any questions, please send us an email.
