The Energy Facilities Siting Council (EFSC) is now poised to deny our appeals, and we are gearing up for a trip to the Oregon Supreme Court! This is our only recourse for a fair hearing; the state regulatory agencies that should protect us have surrendered their responsibilities to a corporate out-of-state utility.  Idaho Power plans to receive guaranteed profits by constructing an unneeded transmission line, the B2H, across northeast Oregon.  It will increase fire risks; tear up fragile habitats, pristine protected areas, historical and cultural resources, and deface views of wide open spaces while destroying countless dreams and livelihoods.

For the past five years, we have dedicated thousands of hours to filing well-researched professional documents in every regulatory docket and administrative decision-making process.  Still, our state regulators have failed us. This is not a NIMBY (not in my back yard) issue. The B2H is a green-washing travesty.  Environmental destruction in order to save the planet?  There are much safer and less environmentally destructive ways to deal with climate challenges and protect the planet.
