What's Going ON?...
This is a critical juncture. The Energy Facilities Siting Council (EFSC) are comin' to town (La Grande) next week! They are the decision makers in the "siting" or permitting of the B2H in Oregon. They will be hearing 30 of our appeals (called exceptions), in the Contested Case.
EFSC will hear each issue (e.g.: fire risk, need, weeds, fish passage, scenic resources, and more.) The meeting is designed to follow this format:
*the Stop B2H petitioners only have 3 minutes per issue;
*followed by 3 min each - Idaho Power and OR Dept of Energy;
*then the EFSC will discuss and do a straw poll per issue.
On Tuesday, there will be a short public comment period (9:30-10 am) HOWEVER the public cannot speak about the B2H! Go figure? But, you may speak about energy projects that EFSC is reviewing elsewhere. Or about the siting process itself: 'it's difficult to participate' or 'its inaccessible to people who can't afford an attorney.' If you want to speak but not sure what to say, ask us at the Rally or contact us: info@stopb2h.org
Many of you testified to this same group of decision makers (EFSC) three years ago! You generated 1,000 comments in opposition. Now, we are in the final phase of the Contested Case. All meetings are open to the public. Here is the agenda with meeting information (e.g: itinerary, call-in and webinar connection abilities, location and campus map.) Here is another agenda with estimated times for each issue starting on page 3. You can come and go at any time.
Please come, even for a while...
Show your support for the dedicated Stop B2H volunteers!
