Reflecting on 2019

2019 has been a year full of learning and change with many things to celebrate.  As we continue to prepare for and work towards 2020, it is important to take time and acknowledge the many successes and achievements made by our students this year.

These successes are many and varied with our students demonstrating consistently high levels of achievement in ICAS examinations, at zone sports events and Mathex competitions.  This year a school zone was established, the first time in our school's history.

As a school community we have continued to deepen the impact our school values of Inquiring Minds, Self Belief, Creativity, Excellence and Respect have on the learning environment in our school.

To our previous and new Board of Trustees, thank you for providing the support and direction in your governance that ensures as a school we have the means and the purpose to achieve our goals for the school.

A huge thank you to the Friends of Ōrākei School for their ongoing dedication and service in support of both our school and staff.  This hard work, in both friendship and fund raising, has been critical in helping us to achieve our goals this year. Congratulations on the Art exhibitions 10th anniversary.

To our parents, our school truly values the way that you prioritise your child's learning and we encourage you to continue this in 2020.

To our students, thank you for the efforts that you have all made in your learning this year.  It has been fantastic to see and share in the milestones that you have achieved on your learning journey. We wish you the best.

To our staff, you are a wonderful team and I thank you for your dedication and commitment to ensuring that our children are successful.  I value the warmth and thought that you show each child in helping them to achieve and get the most from their time in your care.

To our wider community and alumni, thank you for continuing to engage and support our school.

2020 is set be an exciting year.

I wish you all a happy and safe holiday.
