President's Message

As I come to the end of my first year as your president, I have a renewed sense of optimism for what lies ahead. While the association faced its share of challenges this year, I am hopeful that the efforts that people are putting in will pay off. As a volunteer run organization, we are always in need of volunteers. Most committees only require a few hours a year and the really neat thing is that the more people that volunteer, the less time it takes.

The WAHA annual meeting of the membership and awards banquet will be held January 18th of 2020 and it would be great if everyone could attend. This is a great opportunity to introduce someone new. It has been a number of years since we combined the annual meeting and awards banquet together and we would really appreciate your feedback on continuing this newer tradition. This year we will have two by-law changes for members to vote on. These proposed changes will be sent under a separate cover to all members. Remember, changes to the by-laws can be proposed by any member, not just the board of directors or by-laws committee.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Tim Schaap

Wanted: Wisconsin Horse Council Representative for WAHA
WAHA is looking for a member to represent our club with the Wisconsin Horse Council (WHC) as a level III member.

Description: Level III membership is available to an equine related organization or business that derives a portion of its income from the equine industry. Each level III member is eligible to appoint a director and an alternate director to the WHC Board. The WHC strongly encourages attendance at the monthly meetings and service on at least one WHC committee. The alternate director may vote when the primary director is absent.
