The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!”—A Sermon Series in the Book of Revelation
The Book of Revelation is one of the most encouraging and life-changing books in Scripture, however it must be read and understood on its own terms. Too often, readers and preachers impose their own ideas and interpretations which can quickly turn this very clear presentation of the gospel of Jesus into something bizarre and misunderstood.
Join us Sunday, September 9 at 10:00 am as we enter the incredible world of Revelation where Jesus reveals “things that you have seen, things that are and things that are to take place after this.” Come Lord Jesus!
the journey orientation begins now
 Life-on-Life Journey Discipleship
for men & women
Orientation TONIGHT! Thursday August 30, 6:30pm at 200 Vista Del Rey Dr. (map)!

If you would like to participate in, or simply receive more information about, our wonderfully unique Life-On-Life discipleship program called The Journey, please plan to attend an Orientation on Thursday, August 30, at 6:30pm at George Isaac's home. This orientation will take approximately one hour and will explain what Life-on-Life Missional Discipleship is and is not, what is The Journey, what to expect each week and more.
Life-on-Life Journey Discipleship is a unique opportunity to be part of a small group of 5-8 people plus a trained facilitator who meet once per week to study Scripture, theology and a complete range of life issues. The course runs from September 2018 to May 2019. Space in each group is limited, so let us know soon if you’d be interested. Orientation is required before admission to one of the groups. If you have any questions, please email Chuck Isaac. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you tonight at 6:30!

we believe in God
Southwest Institute for Christian Learning
Classes begin Monday, September 10, 2018 at 6:30pm
Please join us as CTK begins the fall semester with an 11-week study in We Believe in God
Who is God? What are his attributes? His eternal plan? His works in history? At the most fundamental level, the Scriptures were given to us to teach us about who God is and what he has done for us. In fact, knowing God is essential for us to understand ourselves and our world. This is why we study what theologians call theology proper, or the doctrine of God.
Join us as we introduce the primary concerns of systematic theologians in regard to theology proper, discuss a systematic approach to discerning God's attributes, and survey God's plan and works, especially his decrees, creation and providence.  Email Pastor Chuck for more information.
when life and beliefs collide by carolyn james

Caryl Fickett will have the study books for ‘When Life and Beliefs Collide’ available for purchase this Sunday at church.  The books are $11 each.  If paying by check, please make it to CTK.

In preparation for our first meeting, please read through "Introduction" for discussion on September 20th.  Discussion questions can be found on page 257.

Book study and discussion for ladies…
Nothing in life is more certain than suffering. The first question we ask is, “Why?”… “Why me, why now, why this, why them?”; then the inevitable and painful doubt, fear, confusion and anger. So what do you do when life and beliefs collide? Join us as we tackle this head on… no trite “Christianese” phrases, no “pat” answers.
Marivi Isaac will facilitate a study and discussion of Carolyn James’ book, When Life and Beliefs Collide beginning Thursday evening, September 20th at 6:30 pm at 3938 Flamingo Dr. For more information contact her at or text 915-276-2056. Ladies, if you have a friend or family member struggling to make sense of life and faith, this is the perfect place to introduce them to the gospel of Jesus…the ultimate Sufferer who cried out to God, “Why?”
according to plan - ctk adult sunday school fall 2018
Fall Adult Sunday School – Starting September 9 at 9AM
The massive diversity and complexity of the Bible can make it a daunting project for anyone to tackle. Getting a grasp on the unity of the Bible, its central message from Genesis to Revelation, helps immensely in understanding the meaning of any one book or passage. Graeme Goldsworthy answers these questions with an integrated theology of both Old and New Testaments that avoids unnecessary technicalities. According to Plan is wonderful study for understanding how the Bible fits together as the unfolding story of God's plan for salvation. Join Herman Mapula as we look at "The Unfolding Revelation of God in the Bible" beginning Sunday, September 9th at 9AM.

NEW STUDY Beginning August 29!!
A Survey of Church History Part 3~ AD 1500-1620
We live in a world that has been profoundly shaped by events that occurred in the sixteenth century. In addition to landmark developments in economics, government, and culture, this crucial century witnessed a powerful renewal of biblical Christianity. Amid opposition and uncertainty, faithful Christian leaders expressed a passion for the gospel and a commitment to the authority of Scripture that have influenced generations of believers. In this third installment of his journey through church history, Dr. W. Robert Godfrey brings to life the stories of those who dedicated their lives to proclaiming the truth of God’s Word in the Protestant Reformation.
The video lecture on A Survey of Church History Part 3 by Robert Godfrey will begin at 12:10pm after lunch with discussion following. PLEASE JOIN US!  Contact David Fickett for more information.

The word "Addiction" covers a wide spectrum.  From substances like alcohol and tobacco, prescription medications or illegal drugs; to behaviors that provide a temporary high, like gambling, racing and similar activities.
In a three-part series to take place this Fall, Deacon Jeff Thrasher will provide the opportunity to learn more about addiction and ways to cope with it. The series is a must for anyone personally suffering the devastating effects of addiction, or who has a friend or relative struggling with it.  We hope you can join us as we explore addiction from all aspects, physical, emotional, and most importantly, spiritual.
