MY Project USA Has Been Incredibly Valuable As A Mean By Which I Can Make A Difference In Columbus
The clients have become the second family to me, and I find myself wanting to know more and more about how I can help them
Dear MY Project USA's Family,
Two years ago, I got involved in MY Project USA while in high school, beginning with the food drive set up in honor of Our Three Winners, Razan, Yusor and Deah. The objective was to turn the one-year anniversary of their unimaginable loss, into something which embodied the spirit of their charitable lives and resolute representation of their beliefs. I participated in the drive by setting up a box in my school to collect donations, and received a generous amount from students, teachers and administrators who understood the importance of this small deed.
From then on, MY Project USA has been incredibly valuable as a mean by which I can make a difference within Columbus. At the end of my senior year, a school club I was part of called Global Impact raised about $2,000 to support the inception of a soccer league in the Hilltop. The decision was made to donate money for this cause, because we had heard, through MY Project USA, about one young man’s struggle to rent a gym and provide proper shoes and equipment for his players. He explained to us how crucial the extracurricular was for the boys, in building a sense of unity while keeping them away from drugs and violence. It is humbling to know that the contribution we made has officially helped MY Project USA start a soccer team, Hilltop Tigers!
The biggest impact MY Project USA has had on my life is, without a doubt, MY Family Pantry. On a weekly basis I am given the opportunity to speak to pure-hearted and profound volunteers, and join them in feeding our neighbors. The clients have honestly become a second family to me, and I find myself wanting to know more and more about what I can do to help them. I am excited to see how much our pantry will grow!
I am grateful to MY Project USA for their commitment to solving such a wide number of problems in our community, and never doubting the effect that even one small action could have!
Please continue supporting us through your generous donations and presence. Please join us at our annual dinner on February 18th, 2018, to learn more about our initiatives.
