This Organization Has Groomed Me To Be The Leader I Am Today! Thank You For Caring Enough To Invest In Underprivileged Youth And Families
MY Project USA's Family,
My journey at MY Project USA started during summer of 2015, when I was 16 years old, packing Ramadan baskets in Sister Zerqa's living room. For me and most of the youth in my community on the westside of Columbus, that was our golden year. First time ever, we were introduced to the concept of selfless community service to uplift our own neighborhoods.
I have been volunteering ever since, feeding the poor and helping out at MY Deah's. MY Project USA has instilled me with many life skills and impacted me in many ways. This organization has groomed me to be the leader I am today. Now, I am in college, becoming a nurse, while working in this organization as a Program Coordinator. I am grateful at how much we have accomplished during previous years, especially in 2017.
To protect and empower little children and youth in our neighborhoods, we have collaborated with the Boy Scouts of America, Wedgewood Middle School, Eakin Elementary School, Wedgewood Management, Hilltop Library and many other organizations that help us in different ways. Currently, we serve about 120 kids every week through our programs.
Our programs provide after school homework help, educational activities, reading program, scouting meetings and youth leadership meetings for students grades 3rd and up. Without our programs, many of these children would have no place to go. We make sure that these kids get the food and the tutoring help that they need to thrive and to do well in school. We also have Parent Development Programs three days a week. For parent programs we provide ESL classes and parenting workshops.
Please see the report's highlights below. None of this was possible without your encouragements and support in the project. Thank you for believing in MY Project USA's Team. Thank you for caring enough to willingly invest in our underprivileged youth and families. Thank you for helping me become who I am today.
