Neighbors & Community Leaders To Support The Center On The Westside Great Opportunity For Adults & Youth Volunteers Collaborators & Sponsors Are Welcome
Our meeting with the neighbors last Saturday went very well. Many new ideas were discussed with the Holly Hill Area neighbors who thought that this center could also help the elderly neighbors by teaming them up with the young adults. We certainly agree and are putting different teams together to spearhead various initiatives that would help us building a safe, healthy and prosperous neighborhood for all. We will be meeting with the neighbors on the second Saturday of each month. The Reading Warriors are starting their program at this location this Wednesday.
As you might know, there is no other recreational facility at the walking distance for the youths and schools are not able to provide needed services to the area youth. There are at least 2000 children in just Wedgewood apartments. There are hundreds of other youth in the Holly Hill Area. They are among the kids at high risk of drugs, gangs or being trafficked in Columbus. This Center will be open to all kids and their families.
At the moment, we are planning to have a full-time Youth Counselor and a part time Social Worker stationed here along with several other volunteers and paid staff. If you are interested in helping with this initiative, please contact us at email@example.com. If you would like to make this a part of your legacy, please send us your donations online or via mail. Please keep us in your prayers.

Gathering Community To Address Suicide & Depression Join The Movement - Save a Person at a Time
Last week, we held two sessions to educate community members about depression and suicide. It has been cleared to us after attending the larger community event at the Noor Islamic Center and our own smaller yet more focused sessions that we need to build a movement to address the stigma around the mental health treatments before we do anything else. our community needs a major push to open up for treatments and more education about mental health of individuals. We have hence decided to build a team of campaign makers and professionals to launch a movement that could encourage our community to seek treatment before they are too late.
We will continue educating and organizing our youth, parents and other community members through our monthly meetings and collaborative work with other esteemed organizations. More info about the meetings will be shared soon. Please contact us if you would like to be the part of our main team.
