On March 17th, Columbus Community Came Together To Support Their Muslim Neighbors At The Rally, We Vowed To Keep Organizing Our Communities Against Hate And Foster Peace And Inclusiveness
This was a long, sad but somewhat therapeutic and enlightening week for many of us. In the aftermath of the New Zealand's shooting the out pour of support to the New Zealand Muslim community by their Prime Minister and the support and love we received across the US and the world has been uplifting.
MY Project USA joined hands with ten other organizations and co-organized the Interfaith Prayers for New Zealand Victims and a Rally to Stop Hate at the Ohio Statehouse last Sunday. We are still in awe of all the people that came to this rally. Their presence, words, gestures, tears, hugs, and more everything made a difference. Many of us found it therapeutic. We cried together and then vowed to keep organizing our community to stop hate and to foster a compassionate community, from elected officials to elementary school children. Together we can change this.
