Celebrate with us by listening to 89.7 WCPE The classical Station! They provide free classical music 24/7 that is wonderful to have on when you make dinner, relax on a drive, put the baby to sleep, or helping to focus during the work day. Our friends at The Classical Station have been great supporters of Musical Empowerment over the years. The WCPE Education Fund has granted financial support and instrument donations have helped eliminate barriers for children who enroll in our Instrument Lending Program.

Regardless of socioeconomic status and race, music continues to be a universal language by which we communicate while mentorship supports emotional well-being and increases resilience. It’s difficult to imagine missing music and mentorship due to inequalities and lack of access. Musical Empowerment has partnered with Google Fiber, Wake Forest University, and Oak Foundation to address the digital divide facing students in need.
Corporate, Institutional and Foundational support has helped Musical Empowerment bridge the gaps in technology by providing access to online learning for each and every one of our families. From laptops, to high-speed internet connectivity, to teacher training and virtual resources, this collaboration will have a lasting impact on our pairs and provide countless opportunities in the future.
The Meredith Richard Scholarship Fund was started in 2019 in honor of Musical Empowerment's first Executive Director. Scholarship winners are funded for professional private lessons for one year with a teacher of their choice.
Last year, Melodie Tun (pictured below) was the scholarship winner and she continues to grow into an incredible musician.
This year, we are able to honor two new scholarship winners. Applications are opening October 1st and will be due December 15th. Winners will be announced in January 2021. We look forward to your applications!
