SAVE THE DATE - Viking Funeral Sat 20 July
The mega annual Viking Funeral is back with all the action - Boat burning, bagpipes, flaming archers, live music, pig on a spit, costume comps (whelp, wench and warrior), extra bars and seating and medieval revelry.

As per last year, the event will be ticketed for non-members ($20 pre-sale) for patron safety, but all members will be guaranteed entry and for free.

Last year's event sold out, so if you have non-member friends wishing to attend get them to purchase their $20 ticket early to avoid disappointment. Kids are free.

Better still, encourage them to join up as social members (to June 2020) for just $25 and they'll score guaranteed free entry same as yourselves.

WORKING BEE - PONTOON WALKWAY BRIDGE

As only two persons presented for this working bee (thanks committee members Suzie and Andrew) finishing this R&M project has been deferred. Priority is being placed on repairs to the careening poles.
WEEKLY BADGE DRAW - EVERY WED 7:45PM
Have you noticed the winning badge draw number is often in the 9,000s or 10,000s?
This is because most of our current membership has a higher badge number, as the club always issues the next consecutive number to each new member (currently issuing numbers in the late 10,000s - as a comparison In 2001 we were issuing numbers in the 3,000s ). The weekly badge draw is randomly computer generated, and includes all financial members including life, senior and social (but not junior).

The badge draw starts at $500 and goes up $50 each week it is not won, to a value of $1000, whereby a second badge draw will get underway.  If you don't score the big one, there is always the cash raffles on sale - keep a look out for our Rear Commodore Ray doing the rounds.
WORKSHOP USERS PLEASE READ
All users of the workshop please read the new Workshop Conditions of Use Notice now installed and sign the register to say you have read and understand the conditions. This is for the safety of all members. Users only need to sign once.

The club is anticipating delivery of portable welding screens this week for members to use whilst welding. Thanks to all members for their cooperation. If you are not sure about any of the conditions please ask to GM to clarify.
NO INSURANCE COVER WHILST ON CAREENING POLES
Members are strongly recommended to organise their own third party risk insurance as a minimum prior to using the DBCYA careening poles, as damage caused by vessels careened here is not covered under the club's marine liability insurance. As stipulated in the Careening Poles agreement, all users use this facility at their own risk and are wholly liable for any damages caused to their own, the club's and other members' property and person by the user or his/her vessel.

If you are having trouble sourcing an insurer to arrange third party or comprehensive cover for your vessel, approach Marsh Insurance (local brokers) or Australian Sailing and start a conversation.
ADDITIONAL SECURITY CAMERAS TO COVER BLIND SPOTS
These have now been installed and are operational in the dinghy rack, workshop, new carpark  and careening poles areas.
