A Message From First Year Experience's
Pegasus Parent Program
Happy holidays Knights family!
It is already December! It's my favorite time of the year for many reasons: holiday decorating, family gatherings, Christmas movies, choosing a new planner for next year, and more! However, there are things to get done before we dive into the holiday spirit because the semester doesn't finish up until the second week of December. As a current UCF graduate student, I can relate to how students are feeling about their upcoming final exams and finishing up the semester. In fact, I am feeling both excitement and anxiety; there's a feeling of lots to do and not enough time to do it this time of year.
How is your student feeling? Are they excited to finish the Fall semester, or rather stressed about it?
If your student is finishing up their first semester at UCF, they might not be used to how final exams work or know how to best prepare. Students might feel excessive anxiety toward finals, are still looking for good study places, or need to meet with an academic advisor to discuss concerns for next semester. This leads to Winter Break being such a valuable time for students. Finishing a semester is not as easy as it looks, and students deserve some time to rest. However, the break also serves as a great time for you and your student to reconnect, share some quiality time, and have meaningful conversations before the start of another busy semester.
This month's featured post focuses on how to help students prepare for finals, conversations to have with your student over Winter Break, and other helpful resources. Click below to check it out and happy holidays from your UCF Pegasus Parent Program family!

Apply to be an Orientation Leader!
Orientation Leader (OL) applications will remain open! OLs serve as critical members of the First Year Experience (FYE) team. We are seeking current undergraduate students who are dedicated to UCF and seeking to serve on a team of role models for all UCF students and their support systems. The role of an Orientation Leader can be demanding but we believe it is equally, if not more, rewarding. Read more about the role and learn how students can apply by clicking the button below.
