Summer programming is HAPPENING!

Summer programming is in full swing at both our school sites, as these fantastic photos indicate! Students partook in the summer's first College Bowl last Friday, engaging in a competition of original cheers in color-coded units. We are thrilled to have BTC students around. Kudos to our incredible Teaching Fellows for their ongoing enthusiasm in these first few weeks! Stay tuned for a full update in August!
Visitor Days #1 was a great success! BTC welcomed guests at Mounds Park Academy this morning. Guests had the opportunity to meet BTC students and Teaching Fellows, in addition to engaging in a hands-on activity that helped them broaden their perspective on the BTC experience. We look forward to hosting guests at Saint Paul Central tomorrow, and guests at both sites next week! Interested in attending? It's not too late! Register here.

We are still looking for volunteers to transport students home from summer programming in the afternoon (approx. 2:45pm start) during the weeks of July 17-21 and July 24-28. If you are interested in volunteering during these weeks, please fill out this form and our Volunteer Transportation Coordinator, Michael Langseth, will reach out to you. We appreciate it!

This month we'd like to highlight former Teaching Fellow Destyn Land, who taught 8th grade writing at Saint Paul Central during summer 2016. A graduate of Saint Paul Public Schools, Destyn had a natural aptitude for teaching, in line with his goal of becoming an SPPS teacher longterm.

BTC was fortunate enough to have a Q&A session with Destyn, and we are excited to share it with you all. Check out the full Q&A! In short, Destyn is an aspiring teacher who seeks to educate Saint Paul's youth for all the right reasons. In his words, "I dream of every young person in Minnesota unleashing the talent, intelligence, and bright ideas that are already within them." We at BTC were so thrilled to have Destyn as a Teaching Fellow next year, and we can't wait to see his teaching career launch after he graduates from Augsburg University!

BTC is excited to honor Central High School of Saint Paul Public Schools. Thank you for sharing building space, allowing access to nutritious meals, and providing genuine care for BTC students. We are extremely grateful to this community of educators, administrators, building engineers, nutrition staff, and educational assistants for making us feel welcome in your space. Kudos!
We Hope to See You at Visitor Days!
Kudos to our program partner, Saint Paul Central!
