First Saturday Session of the School Year!

UPDATES AND HIGHLIGHTS
We kicked off the school year with our first Saturday Session on September 23rd. We celebrated with over 200 Breakthrough Twin Cities students, building a school-year community to prepare for high school, college, and to celebrate the accomplishment of our goals! Our seniors are beginning the college application process in consultation with Wade Peterson, BTC College Counselor, while our juniors planned their approach to studying for the ACT. The energy was high and the students were motivated to start off their school-year on a great foot!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Want a fun way to help BTC raise money? Volunteer alongside a BTC student or alum working concessions at Vikings games this year and even at the Super Bowl! If you want to work one or more games, are 17+, and want to help BTC, just complete this form and we'll get back to you with more details! All shifts are on Sundays from approximately 7:00am-4:00pm. With enough volunteers, the Vikings will give us concessions on the field level where all the players come and go!

A SECOND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Are you an experienced photographer with access to a high-quality camera? Do you want a chance to see our students in action? Then volunteer to take pictures for us at our Saturday Sessions! If you're interested or know someone who is, send an email to rhaxton@breakthroughtwincities.org and we can talk more about this opportunity.

OFF TO COLLEGE!

As September comes to an end, so does the first month of college for many of our BTC alumni! Our students traveled all over the country to begin their journey through higher education, and we're so excited for them.

To the left is a picture of Huai Muan (Naomi), a freshman at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and an alumna of Roseville High School. She is studying in the College of Liberal Arts and has plans to pursue a career in healthcare. We wish Huai Muan and all of our freshmen a fun and successful first semester in college!

PROGRAM PARTNER FEATURE
This month we honor our corporate partner, MyBurger! Last month, MyBurger selected BTC to partner with them as they opened their newest location in the Mac Groveland neighborhood in St. Paul. MyBurger helped us raise $1,255, which is over half of what it costs to support one student through a year of Breakthrough programming. Thank you, MyBurger, for investing in our community!
Kudos to our featured program partner!
