A No Place Left Raleigh Update

Quick prayer update: a few months ago, I asked you guys to pray that I would be unified with the team in RDU and God has answered your prayers so I appreciate it! After being here a few months, I am feeling well connected with the team across Raleigh-Durham.
Me training (to the right) on day 1 of a 4 day training
I always enjoy the opportunities that come along to train Christians to make disciples. Many believers are enthusiastic, but haven't been equipped how. This past month, I had one such opportunity to be a trainier at a four day training in Raleigh.

People from all over the city and from different parts of the country came together and we dug into the scriptures to learn principles of how Jesus and the early church made disciples. Also, we equipped everyone with practical tools to help them live out the principles that they learned.

During lunch on one of the days, several of us went to an Indian restaurant nearby and one of us was able to pray for and share the gospel with a Bangali waiter. He was from a Catholic family, but had never actually heard the message of Jesus before, but he decided to give his life to Christ. Stories like this motivate me to want to equip believers even more!
One of the first meetings of our church in a home
As great as it is to equip churches, I have been reminded of the importance to start new churches that meet in homes and can multiply throughout the area. I have recently shared the gospel with several people who are not interested in going to a church on Sunday. People have told me that they feel like hypocrites going or that they have been hurt by the church or even that they have to work on Sunday mornings!

If we are going to have No Place Left for the gospel in RDU we have to start something new. So, as my new friend, Aaron, and I were talking, we realized that he had the people to gather for a church in his home, but didn't know how to start; I didn't have the people, but I knew how to start a church. It dawned on both of us that if we worked together we could get a church going very soon. So, Aaron gathered about a dozen of his friends who also want to make disciples and we started a church in his home this past month (pictured above).

So far, I have been excited to gather with all these believers, but we all hope to add new believers to our number as we continue to reach out as that is the true goal. We had our first non-believer join us this past week, so that's a step in the right direction of what we are trying to do.

PRAY for more opportunities to equip believers to share the gospel
PRAY that this new church start would grow in number as new people come to Christ

...pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you. -- 2 Thessalonians 3:1
I am able to work for e3 Partners in Raleigh-Durham (RDU) in the ministry that God has called me to because of financial supporters who give regularly. I greatly appreciate all of these people and if God leads you to give towards the work He is doing in RDU (ongoing or one-time gifts are appreciated!) click through the e3 partners logo here:
