News from your CWA President, Marci Kladnik
Happy Spring, CWA!
Our mini-event with BlogPaws is just around the corner, May 28-30. I hope many of you will come to Nashville and cheer on our two panels of expert members. Read all about it here on our website. With our warm reception from the BlogPaws leaders and an expected attendance of over 400, we are anticipating this to be a huge success. Remember to use the 10% discount code BP15-CWA-10off when registering.
As an added incentive, Amy Shojai, CWA Events Chair, reports that there will be a cat show in Nashville that same weekend. For those of you who might be interested, here is a link to that event: http://musiccitycatclub.wix.com/musiccitycatclub#!events/c1cnn
There have been some questions posed recently regarding our two Facebook presences. We have a PUBLIC PAGE where anyone can learn about CWA and you all can post about your latest works and interact with “visitors." Then there is the PRIVATE GROUP which can only be accessed by CWA members. To date, there are 138 group members. If you are not one of them but would like to be, send me or any other Facebook admin (Layla Morgan-Wilde, Janiss Garza, Alana Grelyak, Deb Barnes, Dusty Rainbolt, and Lea-Ann Germinder) an email and you will be invited. The CWA Facebook group is similar in to our Yahoo Prolist. However, Facebook is more informal and obviously very visual.
Janiss has explained the members-only Facebook group thusly: "This is a secret group, and the only ones who can see posts are those who have been invited to join. Use this group to discuss matters within CWA, or questions you have about membership, sponsors, benefits or anything you want to share with other members, but not the general public. If you have something you want to share with everyone, not just CWA members, you can do so on our public page: https://www.facebook.com/CatWriters”
I’m very happy to say that our membership is growing steadily. Already 22 new members have joined our ranks since the Atlanta conference last fall, and more are pending. Keep on spreading the good word about our amazing organization!
Warms purrs from your Prez.
