Happy Holidays, CWA!

Wow! It is hard to believe that the year is coming to a close already, a year filled with transition and steep learning curves. There were a few bumps, but all in all, I think it went well. I am looking forward to 2016; I hope you all are as well.

Happily our membership continues to grow both domestically and abroad. I love to see those international applications come in! And all the new books that have been published and awards won…outstanding! I have been seeking members who wish to become involved with the volunteer positions within our organization. These three have recently done just that.

In case you missed the announcement a few weeks ago, Susan Willett accepted the opportunity to fill the shoes left by Nancy Peterson, our Swag Bag Coordinator, who had stepped down. I know she will do well and make the position hers as she readies for Phoenix in June.

Janiss Garza has accepted the Chair position for the Nominating Committee. If you are thinking that you would like to be on either the Council or in an executive position, her committee will be in charge of filling the ballot we will vote on at our annual meeting in Phoenix. Thank you, Janiss, for stepping up!
JaneA Kelley has been voted in (by Council) to fill the vacancy left by Linda Miles when she stepped down for personal reasons. JaneA will finish out the 18 months left in the Council Class of 2016. Thank you as well!
With the year coming to a close, I send you all my best wishes for the Holidays, be the just passed (Hanukkah, Bodhi Day, Solstice) or still to come (Christmas, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, New Year’s Day). I hope I did not miss anyone’s special day! May you all experience joy and good health in the coming year for you and your loved ones, including those furry family members.
Warm purrs and eggnog to you.
Your Prez,
Marci Kladnik
