Greetings CWA,
This is a brief update from your CWA President, Marci Kladnik.
It has really been a very quiet summer for CWA admin. This is not to say that things are not happening, but more that the wheels are just turning slowly and steadily.
Amy Shojai and I meet regularly via conference call in regards to our 2016 awards banquet. We anticipate that Amy will be making an official announcement very soon, so watch for that exciting email in the coming weeks.
Reading the posts that have come in, my heart goes out to each and every one of you who has lost a furry family member in recent months. (I lost my own dear Maggie in July.) The support of our community means so much at these sad times; even a simple “Like” on Facebook says that you have taken the time to acknowledge the loss.
On a happier note, I have been astounded (although I shouldn’t have been) at the number of new books and awards this year! What a prolific and talented membership we have. I’m predicting a rather stiff competition this year’s CWA contest. (More about that coming soon from your Contest Chair, Arden Moore.)
I’m also happy to report that new membership applications continue to come in. Please take a moment to welcome each one as they are accepted.
