This is a message from your CWA
Contest Chair, Arden Moore.
Yes, on the heels of announcing all the winners of regular and special awards from the 2015 CWA Communications Contest, we are very pleased to let this (much-needed) cat out of the bag. For the 2016 contest, we happily welcome a new special category award called Save-a-Feral Cat Award that is being sponsored by Barn Cats, Inc.
This award will be presented to the informative entry that best describes the plight of feral cats or educates on the topics of TNR, feral cat relocation, and humane and non-lethal colony management options. Entries will be judged for quality as well as the ability to persuade the reader. Qualified online or print entries include articles, blogs, features, columns, series of articles, websites, blogs and videos. The award consists of $500 and a commemorative item.
Very nice! A special thanks and appreciation to Dusty Rainbolt, former CWA president, for arranging this additional special award.
Current CWA President Marci Kladnik sums up the feeling of many in our organization by saying, "Being an advocate of TNR and feral barn cat placement [taking them out of kill shelters), I am thrilled to have an award specifically designed to honor such work.”
Don’t forget that the last publication date to qualify for the 2016 Communication Contest is December 31, 2016. That’s only 16 weeks away!
Good luck to all!
Your humble contest chair, Arden Moore
