Remember to update your watch to Daylight Savings time this weekend!

Daylight saving starts this Sunday 2nd October. Our customers in states where you put your clocks forward an hour will need to change the time on your TicTocTrack watch.

To re-set the time on your TicTocTrack watch, simply send an SMS command to your watch. Please follow these instructions:

1. Open up messages on your mobile phone.
2. Type in the mobile number for your TicTocTrack watch.
3. Send the following command to your watch based on your location:

NSW/VIC/ACT & TAS = #timezone#e#1100#000000#
SA/Broken Hill NSW = #timezone#e#1030#000000#

If you need to refer to instructions on changing the time again in the future please refer to your 'Tips, New Features & Warranty' Card that was supplied in your original packaging or download a soft copy here.

Back to School with the TicTocTrack Watch: How the watch locates throughout a school day

1. Once the watch is turned on and moving, it will attempt to connect with a satellite and locate every 5 minutes.

2. GPS devices typically don’t work as well inside as they do outside. The watch will connect best when it is outside with a clear view of the sky.

3. Because the TicTocTrack watch is small, the antenna isn’t as big as it would be on a phone or a vehicle tracker for example. So if you turn the watch on indoors and then get in a car and drive 4 minutes to school or even up to 10 minutes the watch may not have had the chance to connect to a satellite. If your child then gets out of the car and walks straight indoors it still may not have had an opportunity to connect and it can appear as though the watch isn't locating.

4. We recommend turning the watch on half an hour before leaving home, allowing the watch time to connect with the satellite before the child enters their classroom. The watch will typically then remain in an ‘Active’ state whilst the child is in the classroom and you will then see locating activity when they are on the move at their lunch breaks and again when they leave school for the day.

If at any time you are unsure as to whether your TicTocTrack watch is turned on and operating you can check the 'Tracking Records' report under the reports tab in our monitoring platform as this report will show every 5 minute communication the watch has with the satellite and details of whether it has located or not.
