Call to Artists: "Marine Food Webs: Drifters to Swimmers"
The Giustina Gallery is accepting submissions from Pacific Northwest regional artists for an exhibit that encourages dialog about the importance of sustaining and preserving our ocean food web—from the microscopic plankton to those that consume them.

Art that will be considered for this exhibition must depict sea life that may include algae, plants, and animals that live in the marine environment.

This exhibit will be a parallel show to a special collection by invited artists who participated in a National Science Foundation funded Artist-at-Sea Residency Program that worked with scientists from OSU Hatfield’s Plankton Lab and UO's Sutherland Lab aboard four oceanographic research cruises.
Gallery Calapooia's "Big Show of Little Art"
Gallery Calapooia is hosting their 3rd annual exhibit of 8 inches x 8 inches art works in February 2020 and we would love to have you join us!

ELIGIBILITY: Participation in this exhibit is open to everybody: new artists, veteran artists, young and old artists, artists who are showing their work for the first time and artists who have been showing their work for years.  The 8 x 8 exhibition celebrates the community and community arts. All art work must be for sale and cannot have been shown in previous Gallery Calapooia Community Exhibits.

ART WORK SUBMISSION: Art work entry must be hand delivered to Gallery Calapooia, 222 1st Ave. SW, Albany, Oregon 97321. The submission dates are January 17 and 18, 2020 Noon-6:00 PM. Entry forms are available online or at Gallery Calapooia. They must be completely filled out, signed and submitted with art work. The space for the exhibition is small and while we will endeavor to accept as many artist’s work as we can, we only have room for approximately 120 artists depending on the number of 2D and 3D entries. You can find the art submission form at our website: http://www.gallerycalapooia.com/

MEMBERS IN SHOWS!
"The Road Less Traveled"
Two CAG members (Jack Larson and Phil Coleman) are also members of the Willamette Valley PhotoArts Guild (PAG) which is having its biennial show at the LaSells Stewart Center through January 27th. The show's theme is "The Road Less Traveled," inspired by the Robert Frost poem. The show has photographs from 26 members of the PAG. They were asked to interpret the closing lines of the poem in light of their own personal artistic journey:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
SERIOUS PLAY
January through February, Diane Widler Wenzel’s exhibit, SERIOUS PLAY, will be at the second floor of the Main Branch of the Albany Public Library, 2450 14th Ave SE. Diane wants to put play in making art on a pedestal.
