New Day, New Time for the Potluck!!!!!!

Due to a mix-up in scheduling, our June potluck and elections meeting will be on Tuesday, June 4, instead of Monday, June 3.  It will still be at 6:30 in the Fireplace Room at the First Congregational Church.

This month is our annual potluck and elections meeting. In addition, we will hear a brief presentation by Chuck Kelly and Trina Greene-Price on the upcoming Latvian artists’ show in October, which will also include Juried Oregon artists. Chuck and Tina will discuss this interesting and serious show on the theme of mental health and its treatment. In addition, we will have a free raffle for an Art Guild t-shirt for some lucky winner to cherish and wear. So, come for food for body, food for thought and fun!

Arts Center and The Art Guild
I have heard from 10 (ten) people who have told me that they are members of both the Art Guild and The Arts Center.  If you are a dual member and have not yet let me know this, please contact me (  I am only going to give the Arts Center a number, no names.

As promised, information about the 2019 Clothesline Sale will soon be available on our Guild’s website:

Thank you to Rani Primmer, who is making that happen! In the meantime, is still up, but contains 2018 information.  Please don’t use its url until further notice.

For artists participating in this year’s sale, preparations leading up to our August 3rd event will be much like they have been in past years, with a few changes.

We have the 2019 poster image, designed by Margie Kinch. A digital copy is available for all Corvallis Art Guild members to share through their social media, and we hope you will do that enthusiastically!  Please give Margie credit for the beautiful poster when you send it out to people.

The Board has decided to make only fifty, 8 1/2 X 11” posters this year (none of the larger size), as it is hard to find business locations that have space set aside for displaying posters. If you are aware of GOOD locations, please email me with that information. At the July 1st Clothesline Sale meeting, we will have posters ready for volunteers to distribute.

This year, we will be making about 500 post cards. These will be available at CAG’s June 3rd Potluck and at the July 1st meeting. We would like to have as many Guild members as possible take the post cards to mail and otherwise hand out to family, friends and acquaintances.

All Exhibiting CAG members who have paid dues, and participated in Hanging Around Town at least once since last August, are eligible to be in our sale. The fee is still only $25, with a donation equal to 10% of artists’ sales going to CAG.

The emailable postcard images and registration form for our 2019 Clothesline Sale will be on the site.

Registration forms are NOT to be submitted before July 1, and they will be accepted through August 1st. Placements will be made with consideration for artists’ contributions to our organization, and then on a first-come-first-served basis. Placement assignments will be posted  the week of July 22nd at:

This year we are strongly encouraging (just short of “requiring”) all participants to submit one image that can be included with our online Clothesline Sale Artists’ Gallery. We want the Gallery to be full and represent the variety of great art that will be presented on August 3rd. Please send your digital image, the title, and your contact information to me at your earliest convenience.

Send a jpeg image of one painting to This will be included in the online gallery of Clothesline Sale of Art participants.

  • 72 dpi
  • Minimum 600-800 pixels on the longest side
  • Should be clear and not blurry
  • Should be taken parallel and square to the art piece (no angles)
  • Should not include picture frames (crop them out if possible)
  • File names should be as follows: artist name_title of artwork_medium_size ie: “Rani Primmer_Beautiful Chaos_Digital Painting_16x20.jpg”.  Note that the medium and size are optional. Ie: “Rani Primmer_Beautiful Chaos.jpg”

Again this year, Doyle Leek will be in charge of signage around town. That’s a huge task, so be sure to tell Doyle that you appreciate his efforts!

Margie Kinch will be heading up Gazette Times advertising, as she has done for several years. Please say, “Thank you!” to Margie, also!

If you are interesting in having one of your works included in our GT ads, think about submitting a piece that shows clear contrasts of lights and darks, so it will reproduce well in the newspaper. You may send your submission directly to Margie at:

Lastly, our Clothesline Sale meeting will be 7:00-8:00 on Monday, July 1st at the West Hills Church. If you have suggestions or questions before then, please email me at: Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you on July 1st, and having another successful Clothesline Sale of Art.

Mt. Hood at Sunrise -Marjorie Kinch

Marjorie Kinch and Marilyn Lindsley are featured artists for June at Gallery Calapooia, 222 W. First Avenue, Albany, Oregon 97321.  The Exhibit, "From Valleys to Mountains," runs from May 26 through June 22.  Kinch, a watercolor artist and a photographer, and Lindsley, a Polymer Clay Jewelry artist, exhibited their works together last June. At that time they began working together for an exhibit for 2019. Kinch has used many of her photographs as inspirations for the paintings she has created for the exhibit. The reception will be held Friday, June 7 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served as well as live music.
