What to Bring
1. Cash Float: Guide $100 - $200
There will be a single ATM withdrawal machine available at the venue offering $10, $20 and $50 notes. PLEASE bring your own cash float rather than relying on this ATM. This is to ensure visitors have access to cash throughout the festival to purchase your books, and also makes sure there is enough funds to last throughout the festival. Keep your cash float denominations low. However, be aware of visitors asking to exchange their $50 or $100 notes before walking off without purchasing.
2. Your Grab Bag
Stationery: pens, sellotape, pens, blue-tac, calculator, pens
Newsletter Signup Sheets
Goodie bags or Giveaways
Your Mobile Phone
Tablecloth and Props
Food and Drink
Tissues. Nothing worse than feeling a sneeze building up
It might seem obvious but you need to consider the quantity of stock you'll have at the festival. A suggestion would be to bring at least 1/2 a 'publishers' box. If you run out of stock make sure you are able to provide the customer with the delivered product at the same cost. As mentioned in a previous email, put out a small selection of display books available for customers to peruse. Nothing worse than a large collection of tatty books for you to take home.
4. A Smile
Face ache and extra laughter lines may be the down side of smiling, but it'll be worth it. People generally prefer to engage with happy sellers.
Facilities on Offer
Toilets - You'll be relieved to know that the toilet facilities for exhibitors just off from the exhibitor lounge. Visitor toilets are located next to the café.
Kitchen - There is an exhibitor only kitchen available for making your own hot drinks. Unfortunately there isn't a microwave. This is also in the exhibitor only area and has tables and chairs available so you can have a break while someone else watches your stand.
Café - The onsite café is licensed and will be open during visitor opening hours and happy hour on Saturday evening. It has a varied selection of hot and cold food and drinks available, including beer and wine.
Parking - Ample free parking is located directly outside the venue for exhibitors and visitors. There are ten disability parking spaces, painted yellow, on the right hand side of the main entrance. Please do not park in these spots at any time unless you have a disability permit.
