The next
30 Week Fiction Course begins on 29th  Sept 2015. The course is in its sixth year, and features many of NZ’s leading writers and editors as workshop leaders and mentors, including Fiona Kidman, Tessa Duder, Geoff Walker, Roger Hall, Owen Marshall, Chris Else, Sarah Laing, Elisabeth Smither and Judith White. Students receive one-on-one mentoring over the summer with an established Kiwi writer. Graduates regularly report that the most valuable aspect of the course is the close support of a group of like-minded start out writers. Many graduate groups go on meeting for years after the end of the course, so you get several years support for the price of one! Thirteen graduates of our 30 week fiction courses have gone on to publish novels or win prizes in national writing awards.

Imagine a bookshop filled to the brim with books written by Kiwi authors

We’re ‘Writer’s Plot Readers Read’ and we’re a book shop in Upper Hutt. Or, rather, we will be on October 1, 2015. When we open our doors for the very first time.  Excited?  We are.

We're looking for all genres of adult or YA fiction and we're keen on short story collections and poetry....
If you’re a New Zealand author who writes fiction and is published with a small to medium sized press (anywhere), and would like your books in our book shop, you can contact us at the following email address:
or tweet us @writers_plot
Time to Get Set Up

Exhibitors are welcome to set up their space on Friday and Saturday

Saturday Night Fever

The exhibitor area will shut down at 4.00 pm on Saturday afternoon.  However, the café manager has agreed to stay open for exhibitors until 6.00 pm for snacks and drinks.  It's a good way to relax and network with the others after a busy day.  Please let us know if you'd like to stay on so we can get an idea of nibbles required.  Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and meals can be purchased directly from the café staff.
