Secondary Teaching to proceed

Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching to be offered at GUC from 2016

Geraldton Universities Centre has signed a legal agreement with CQUniversity that will see the Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching in the Secondary specialisation introduced at the Centre in 2016. Community members who already hold a university degree and would like to become a secondary school teacher are encouraged to apply.

One year, hands-on course

GUC Education Coordinator Jenny Kessell said the Graduate Diploma was a one year, very hands-on program: “Students will spend at least three days a week in a local school throughout most of the program, which then culminates in a final six week internship,” she said.

“We have had excellent support from all local secondary schools to take students on placement."
