On the Road

Good morning everyone!
So, we’ve been a bit more like Cycle for Silence recently… we’ve been adjusting to the fast pace of life on the road (between 3 and 30 mph, depending on the hill thing), and there’s been very little time to pause. Either been bicycling, tweaking 3D-printed models, scouting out stronger bicycle racks (my cheap Racktime one decided to give out on Day 1 while riding down mount Tam into Stinson...), devouring Nutella (for science!), teaching lessons, or just plopping on the ground with exhaustion and soaking up the California sunshine.
Tonight we stayed in Yuba City with a wonderful, sweet, hilarious couple who double as bike touring extraordinaires. They told us some silly and heartwrenching stories from their cross country trip, prepped us for chasing off stray dogs (Sharon was chased by over 300 of them on their trip, she kept tally), and have made us SO excited for the next three months. I’m writing this as Elizabeth is taking a Sol Cycle on a morning spin with their grandkids (middle school and elementary aged).

We have our first little blog post up, and we’re taking a teaching/rest day in Chico tomorrow to catch up on writing. There’s been so much input we haven’t found time to sit and write, but we are really excited to share our adventures soon!

Happy Earth Day!

Rachel and Elizabeth
