Learning Walks for Teachers

Woodside teachers have a growth mindset! Over the past few weeks, K-5th grade teachers have participated in Learning Walks to observe lessons in the grade levels above and below their own. The goal was to deepen learning around the school-wide initiative of Writer’s Workshop and understand the progression of writing across grade levels.

Paws of Praise for December

At last week's line-up, several Woodside students were awarded Paws of Praise for displaying traits such as their love for learning, helpful attitudes, working hard in Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, giving of themselves, knowing themselves, making good choices, displaying perseverance, and embracing challenges.

Author Visit — Ame Dyckman

TK-2nd grade students enjoyed meeting children’s book author Ame Dyckman, whose books were also available in the Woodside Book Fair. Dressed like the characters in her stories, she fit right in with the kids who were dressed as favorite characters for Spirit Week that day!
